FSSAI Registration

Overview

FSSAI is an abbreviation used for Food Safety and Standards Authority of India. FSSAI license is mandatory before starting any food business. All the manufacturers, traders, restaurants who are involved in food business must obtain a 14-digit registration or a license number which must be printed on food packages.

This step is taken by government’s food licensing & registration system to ensure that food products undergo certain quality checks, thereby reducing the instances of adulteration, substandard products and improve accountability of manufacturers by issuing food service license. FSSAI Online Registration is done through vakil salah(FSSAI license consultants). FSSAI online registration is done through l vakil salah(for basic and central level. For state, the Fssai registration is done through offline mode.

There are mainly 3 type of the Food License or FSSAI License category which is required by each food related business.

a) FSSAI Basic Registration -FSSAI Basic Registration is required by the small business which have turnover less than 12 lakh rupees in a year. So if you are just starting your business then it’s required only the basic FSSAI or Food License Registration. Turnover is calculated on the yearly basis..

b) FSSAI State License Registration -If you have already the FSSAI Basic Registration and cross the turnover of the 12 lakh rupees in a year but less than 20 Cr. rupees then its required the FSSAI State License Registration.

c) FSSAI Central License Registration -If you are starting import export business or want to supply at the government various department then its required the FSSAI Central License Registration. Even it’s also required for the large scale turnover more than 20 Cr. in a year companies.

Required Documents

FSSAI Registration is required the documents depend on the type of the legal entity and type of the Food License or FSSAI Registration.

  • Personal information of the FSSAI Application Applicant -
  • PAN Card: Copy of PAN is mandatory identity proof.
  • Passport size Photo
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card/ Driving License/Passport (Either of the Four)
  • Copy of Rent Agreement or Electricity /other Uitility Bill Copy of the premise.
  • Copy of Aadhaar Card/ Voter identity card/ Driving License/Passport (Either of the Four)
